Philosophy

Founder and Principal Lawyer Amy Coole has a professional background defined by a commitment to public service and rigorous legal practice, having worked across various government departments and the not-for-profit sector.

Since being admitted in 2015, Amy has appeared in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia, the Family Court of Western Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She is admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. Over her years of practice, she developed a strong technical foundation in family law and general litigation built on high ethical standards and model litigation practices.

Amy now focuses on providing high quality, empathetic legal services to help her clients find resolutions without the expense and stress of traditional legal pathways.

Amy is a South West local and mother of two young children. Her local knowledge is crucial when advising on family law matters for clients living in Bunbury and surrounding areas.

General Family Law Consultation (Pre-mediation)

This appointment is an opportunity for you to speak to an experienced family lawyer about your matter. In this consultation we can provide you with general advice about your rights, entitlements and obligations under Family Law. We will also advise you of any relevant time limits that apply and the options you have to resolve your legal matter. Our firm is dedicated to helping families finalise the financial aspects of their separation, with as little emotional and financial strain on both parties as possible. We encourage all our clients, where appropriate, to attempt to resolve their property settlements using a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. This appointment is not for litigation matters and is for verbal advice only.

Comprehensive Advice Package for Property Settlements (Mediation clients only)

$600

If you are mediating a post-separation property settlement with a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, and wish to get advice on your Heads of Agreement, this service will provide you with comprehensive advice to make sure you are informed and confident before finalising your agreement. Eligibility criteria apply, enquire below for more information.

Family Court of WA Consent Orders (Pre-Mediated Agreement)

$2,000 (for clients who have used our Advice Package) + disbursements. $2,600 + disbursements otherwise

This service is to assist those who have mediated a Heads of Agreement with a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in the past 3 months and wish to formalise their agreement by filing it with the Family Court of Western Australia. Eligibility criteria apply, enquire below for more information.

Joint Divorce Application

$900 + disbursements

For married couples who have separated, finalised their parenting and property arrangements and who wish to finalise their divorce. Eligibility criteria apply, enquire below for more information.

We offer fixed-fee services where possible.

We focus our practice specifically on the financial aspects of separation so that we can provide a highly tailored and efficient service to our clients. This includes divorce, property settlements and Family Court of Western Australia consent orders.

No, we do not open our office to the public during standard business hours. We see clients by appointment only, once a service has been booked.

Our appointments are held at our office space in the Bunbury CBD.

Our primary focus is providing fixed-fee, supportive legal services for clients who are willing and able to negotiate their matters out of court. As such we are only able to undertake a very limited number of litigation matters.
