Coole & Co is founded on three core pillars; Excellence, Empathy and Efficiency. Founder and Principal lawyer Amy Coole has a professional background defined by a commitment to public service and rigorous legal practice, having worked across various government departments and the not-for-profit sector. After starting her education through School of the Air, two hours out of Halls Creek, it was serendipitous when many years later, after finishing her education at the University of Western Australia, she made her first appearance back in the Halls Creek Children's Court. She went on to appear in the Family Court of Western Australia, the Federal Court, and the Federal Circuit Court, and has developed a strong technical foundation in litigation built on high ethical standards. Amy believes that family law is about more than just a process—it is about the people involved. She is driven by the principle that every client deserves a high quality service, delivered with care. Amy is a South West local and a mother of two young children. Her local knowledge is often used to tailor advice to her clients, especially with parenting arrangements.

If you are recently separated and need general advice about your rights, entitlements and obligations under family law, this appointment is your starting point. We will advise you of the legal framework that is relevant to your situation, the options to resolve your matter, and key time limits you need to be aware of. This appointment is for verbal general advice only and does not include detailed strategic advice. Areas of law: Separation and Divorce, Property Settlements and Parenting Arrangements *This is the only service where we provide parenting advice. It is general advice only, suitable for those who are eligible and willing to use mediation to make arrangements for their children. We do not represent clients in parenting matters in the Family Court of WA. If your matter is urgent or there is a safety or health risk to your children, we recommend speaking to a family law firm in Bunbury whose practice includes family law parenting litigation, in case this becomes necessary.

Fixed-fee means you know the total cost of your legal service upfront, before any work begins. No hourly billing surprises, no unexpected invoices. The price you see is the price you pay for the defined scope of work.
If additional work is required beyond the fixed-fee scope — for example, if further disclosure is needed for a consent order application — additional work is charged at $300 per hour. We'll always discuss this with you before any additional costs are incurred.
We provide advice exclusively in family law; including separation, divorce, property settlements and incidental matters including family violence retraining orders and child support.
Once you have tentatively booked a service, we will be in touch to guide you through the necessary eligibility checks. If you meet all the eligibility criteria for the service, we will confirm your booking and notify you of the next steps.
